Early diagnosis is important to ensure the best results and minimise the loss of movement and/or muscle strength. We will look at the specific skills and demands required in your sport. In this way we can use functional exercises to ensure a strong return to sport and decrease your risk of re-injury.
During the acute stage of your injury, treatment may include advice about ice, rest, compression and weight bearing as pain allows (POLICE protocol).
Advice on gradual return to exercise
Return to sport does depend on the severity and nature of the injury. It may be necessary to take time out of your sport to allow the injury time to both heal and rehabilitate fully. Both this and a likely time-frame for return will be discussed during your session.
